China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (January 21-27) the average steel price in China increased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous week.

In particular, in the given week prices of 80 mm x 43 mm x 5 mm channel steel, 50 mm x 50 mm equal angle steel and 1 mm cold rolled sheet, increased by 0.5 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, all week on week; while the price of 12 diameter rebar was down 0.1 percent week on week.

In the week ending January 27, average prices of minerals in China witnessed an increase of 0.1 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average price of iron ore in China remained unchanged compared to the previous week.

In the week ending January 27, the prices of tin ore and molybdenum ore decreased by 0.6 percent and 0.4 percent, while the prices of zinc ore, tungsten ore and copper ore were up 1.5 percent, 0.9 percent and 1.1 percent respectively, all compared to the previous week.Meanwhile, in the given week average prices of energy in China were down 0.1 percent, the prices of raw coal declined by 0.5 percent, while the prices of coke and crude oil were up one percent and 0.9 percent respectively, allweek on week.
